The Dreamiest Italy Proposal EVER
This post is all about my Italy proposal story.
Luke & I took a trip to Italy in April 2023 to visit our friends who live in Lucca, Italy! We traveled to the Amalfi Coast where we stayed for half of the week, and then drove to Tuscany & stayed in Lucca for the other half of our trip. Being in Italy is so romantic. Although I wasn’t anticipating a proposal… it definitely crossed my mind during our trip! How couldn’t it?
Luke & I had a private dinner at La Sponda in Positano, on the Amalfi Coast. It was the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever been to! I was absolutely convinced it was going to happen that night!! It’s funny looking back because I was completely NOT being myself at dinner. I was super anxious and quiet! It was so obvious to Luke I’m sure! Lol plot twist, he didn’t end up proposing this night.
After the romantic dinner, I told myself to stop thinking about if he was going to propose, & to just enjoy our vacation! After traveling to Lucca, we spent the next day relaxing, & then on April 13th my friend Amber wanted to take us on a tour of Villa Torrigiani which is a historic landmark near their house. Our day was busy with the tour of the villa, shopping in Lucca all day, & then going to a fancy dinner that night. We wouldn’t have time to change before our dinner, so we had to get dressed up for the entire day. Last minute I put on a floral dress that I had been wanting to wear the whole trip, & we went to tour the villa!
When we got there Luke & I went off on our own & started to tour the outdoor flower gardens. We couldn’t get over how beautiful it was. Lemon trees lined the pathways, the architecture was stunning, and it really felt like we were in a movie scene.
As we were heading back to meet up with our friends, Luke pointed out a blooming pink camellia flower tree to me. We walked over, & Luke picked one of the flowers off for me & put it in my hand. I was distracted & talking about how pretty the flower was. Luke suddenly got down on one knee & placed the ring on top!! I was in COMPLETE shock! All of the sudden I had huge tears blurring my vision, & Luke picked me up & spun me around. It was one of the happiest moments of my life!
I ran to find my best friend Amber, & she was also in complete shock that it happened!! It was such a special moment for all of us! As I was taking these photos, I noticed how the flower Luke proposed with looked just like the flower on my dress! I truly believe IT WAS FATE because I wore a dress with Camellia flowers all over it that day?! Seriously, what are the chances of that happening! It still makes me tear up thinking about it!
